Lokahi Acupuncture has many of the qualities I look for in a holistic healing office.  The waiting area is clean, calming, has water to drink and appropriate books to leaf through. I saw Shawn Smolinski, L.Ac. for a torn calf muscle that was hemorrhaging.  At the time I went to him, the specific injury was not known, but I was in a lot of pain and could not walk.  I choose the 'whole body treatment' which included acupuncture, body and cranial massage.  Shawn was knowledgeable about sports injuries and body mechanics, was gentle and aware of my pain points, he made good use of his time. Lastly, he gave me advice on what herbs and minerals to consider and gave me an herb poultice to try.  He seemed genuinely interested in making my pain go away.  After each treatment my calf muscle felt less tight and the pain was less intense.  I am confident my healing time was shortened due to his treatment.  The Sports Medicine M.D. I was seeing in conjunction with Shawn encouraged me to continue with acupuncture treatment.  I enjoyed the time spent at the office and highly recommend Shawn Smolinski.
