Katy Barry is a California-licensed, nationally certified acupuncturist.

Katy has a holistic approach in her treatments by addressing the body, mind and spirit.  She works with the body’s innate wisdom to heal itself.  Her passions and specialties include:

• Women’s health and fertility
• Men’s fertility
• Pregnancy, labour and induction
• Muscle pain/strains from sports or accidents
• Emotional balancing

Katy explores with a patient their lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, and emotions. This helps to weed out unhealthy lifestyle aspects and incorporate more balance. It is her mission to help patients achieve and maintain their goals of health and well-being.

Katy began her life in Colorado and at an early age moved to Delaware. She graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. Over the next few years, Katy taught environmental courses and special education at various places including the Navajo Indian Reservation in Window Rock, AZ, Pete Seeger’s Clearwater Boat on the Hudson River, and at a school on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.

Exploring the power of healing became a passion of Katy while living and working in a Quaker community for three years near Philadelphia.  In 1998, she began a career in massage therapy and Reiki.  Over the next couple years, she began to receive acupuncture to help her with her ailments and emotions.  It changed her life. She became fascinated with the healing power of the treatments and decided to study the ancient art.

Katy moved to Honolulu, HI to study at Tai Hsuan Institute, and two years later transferred to Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, CA.  She interned in a Chinese hospital and travelled to Japan and Korea to explore the different styles of acupuncture.  After six years of study, she graduated with certificate specialties in Medical Qigong, Five –Element, and Sports Injury Medicine.  Since graduating, she continued with an in-depth study of women’s fertility and men’s fertility.  It is her greatest joy to be able help people with this healing art.
