Angie K. O'Sullivan, L. Ac.

Angie’s specialty and passion lies in working with Digestive and Mental-Emotional Disorders, as well as Women’s Health.
In the digestive realm, Angie treats such conditions as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, chronic or recurrent constipation or diarrhea, bloating, and gas.
Anxiety and Depression may stand on their own or accompany other ailments or chronic illness. They may manifest as side effects of medication. While discontinuing or switching the medication would be ideal, this is sometimes not possible, for instance while undergoing necessary treatment for a chronic or terminal illness. In some instances, medication can be tapered off gradually under a doctor’s supervision, and Acupuncture can help ease the discomfort in the process and restore balance naturally. Whatever may be at the root of the issue, Angie assists her patients in optimizing their physiological and mental-emotional health and well-being, so that they may more comfortably and effectively navigate life.
Oftentimes, there is overlap between different areas of health. Anxiety and Depression may accompany or lie at the root of Eating Disorders, such as binge-eating, anorexia, or bulimia, which, in turn, may produce or arise from digestive difficulties.
Hormonal fluctuations can produce challenges for women at various stages of life, and Angie is passionate about helping women regain balance and a greater sense of ease. Whether the challenge comes in the form of PMS, absent or irregular periods, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), cyclical mood swings and migraine headaches, infertility or sub-fertility, or hotflashes and night sweats, Traditional Chinese Medicine can help.
Having faced her own challenges with chronic illness, Angie brings first-hand experience to her practice and understands the tremendous value of reclaiming both physiological and emotional health and well-being, which she considers to be inextricably linked. Angie is dedicated to helping you find the solutions that will work for your unique situation. With her warm, gentle, caring and competent demeanor, Angie ensures that her patients feel at ease and well-cared for at all times; offering support, empathy and understanding every step of the way.
Angie O’Sullivan was born in Singapore to a French mother and German father and raised in Southern Germany with her brother and two sisters. She embarked on a deeply rewarding journey when she signed up for their 4-year Master’s program, meeting and learning from many wonderful and inspiring individuals along the way. After graduating, Angie received her California State license and National certification to practice Acupuncture and Herbology. She has been in practice at Lokahi Acupuncture since 2006 and loves her work and her patients! Angie is always seeking to expand her knowledge and horizons and is currently in the process of completing a two-year certification program in vibrational and nutritional medicine at the Bioenergy Balancing Center in Palo Alto.
