What Can Acupuncture Treat?
The World Health Organization reported that the acupuncture can be used extensively for many issues without side-effects. Please check out the original document here.
We all have degrees in general practice here at Lokahi Acupuncture, and in addition each of us has an area of expertise:
Anna is our girl for all things fertility. While Angie and Katy also work with fertility and women's health, Anna has an expert knowledge of IVF and Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART). Having spent time in clinic with Dr. Zouves, she has had the opportunity to see first hand what a couple go through when they are at the stage of Western medical intervention. Anna also loves to work with issues concerning hormones such as menopause, menstrual issues, PCOS, endometriosis and migraine.
Angie is our girl for nutritional medicine. Angie loves working with the digestive system and honing in on all the variations that can cause us to feel lethargic, bloated, headachy, swollen, ‘foggy headed’ and generally ‘blah’. Often these issues go hand-in-hand with diseases such as diabetes, IBS, Crohn’s disease and GERD. Angie works on a really deep level and guides you through examining what beliefs or energies cause your body to be out of sync. She then uses acupuncture, herbs, nutritional supplements, meditations and affirmations to empower your body to do it’s healing.
Katy is our pain and sports injury specialist. Hailing from a background in massage and bodywork, Katy has a knack of working with chronic and acute pain. She uses a combination of techniques depending on the situation and is known for working until she gets results. Katy is also our male fertility go-to person. We prefer couples going through fertility issues to have a different practitioner so as to keep each partner's treatment separate, and Katy has a knack of working with issues specifically concerning male fertility. Between them, Anna and Katy consider themselves a strong team, and regularly take the time to check in with each-other about protocols and the progress of couples going through fertility treatment.
